Acting Chief Financial Officer
As Africare's Acting Chief Financial Officer, Basseydou Kamagate oversees Africare's financial activities, management and budgeting. Previously, as Africare's financial controller, Mr. Kamagate ensured that Africare’s financial transactions, policies and procedures met corporate objectives and regulatory requirements, and he had overall responsibility for the selection and implementation of new financial accounting systems.
With more than 20 years in the financial arena, Mr. Kamagate is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Maryland with extensive business experience and rigorous academic training in accounting, finance, analytical science, statistics, staff management and capacity building.
Before joining Africare in 2006, Mr. Kamagate worked in the accounting department at Lutheran World Relief, where he served for seven years.
Mr. Kamagate holds a master’s degree in management of information systems from the University of Baltimore and a master’s of science in mathematics from the University of the Ivory Coast. He also holds a postgraduate degree in education in mathematics from Ecole Normale Supérieure in the Ivory Coast.
