Africare's Bishop John T. Walker Memorial Dinner Gala

Aricare's Bishop John T. Walker Memorial Dinner Gala, held in Washington, D.C., is the nation's largest annual fundraising event for Africa. The event honors the memory of Bishop John T. Walker, who served as Africare's Board Chairman and as the first African-American Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Washington, D.C., where he distinguished himself as an exemplar of peace, justice and interracial harmony. The Gala also connects individuals from diverse fields who share the mission of empowering Africans to improve their lives and rallies support for Africare's community-based programs across the continent.
