Washington, DC August 11, 2009-- Africare hosted about 50 loaned executives in anticipation of the October launch of the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC), a program allowing certain charitable organizations to solicit contributions from employees of the Federal Government of the United States.

The CFC executives, who represented agencies including the Department of Defense, Department of the Treasury, Department of Justice, Central Intelligence Agency, and the U.S. Navy, were welcomed by Senior Vice President, Jeannine B. Scott, and other Africare senior staff.


Africare is a leading non-profit organization specializing in African development aid. It is also the oldest and largest African-American led organization in that field. Since its founding in 1970, Africare has delivered well over $800 million in assistance and support — over 2,500 projects and millions of beneficiaries —to 36 countries Africa-wide.
