WASHINGTON DC, November 22, 2011 - On November 9 Africare officially launched in Benin the Batonga Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Project at Sodohome Girls' High School which is supported by global superstar Angelique Kidjo’s Batonga Foundation. The project will bring sustainable clean water and safe sanitation as well as hygiene training to four of Batonga's secondary schools in Benin which are turning girls into leaders in their communities. Africare’s water and sanitation projects aim to raise school attendance rates and improve the health of these young women.
