Life Members provide essential support to the Africare mission: to improve the quality of life for the people of Africa. Life Members not only give financial support, they help spread the word that Americans, Africans, and people from around the world care about Africa. Through Life Members’ caring and commitment, they inspire others to help.

Anyone can become an Africare Life Member: individuals, couples, families, faith-based organizations, community groups, sororities and fraternities, embassies, and educational institutions. You can also make a gift of an Africare Life Membership for someone else – as an honorary gesture or in memoriam.

Your Life Membership gift is a testament to your concern and commitment to the people of Africa and the work of Africare. You have the power to help!

In addition to the satisfaction of knowing you have helped transform the lives of Africans in underserved communities across the continent, you will also receive the following benefits:

  • Your name inscribed on the Life Members Wall in the main lobby of Africare House, Africare’s headquarters in Washington, DC

How to Become an Africare Life Member

Simply make a $3,000 Life Membership gift. This amount may be given all at once or paid in two installments of $1500 a year (over a period of up to two years). And you can donate in several ways:

Donate by telephone. Best for credit card donations. Both U.S. and international credit cards are welcomed. MasterCard and VISA only (sorry, Africare does not accept American Express). Call 1-202-328-5370 (Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Eastern time).

Donate by mail. Checks or money orders (we strongly advise: do not send cash through the mail). Make payable to: Africare; and write "Life Membership" on the note line or in a covering letter. Checks and money orders must be in U.S. dollars and drawn on a U.S. bank. Mail Life Membership gifts to: Africare, Attention: Gifts, 440 R Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20001, USA.
