Africare's youngest donors are making their mark ... in a very BIG way! Every month, Africare will feature the fundraising efforts of children and youth around the world who are making a difference in the lives of families in Africa. Here are just a few of their amazing stories.

July 2009Monrovia, caMs. Conde’s students in Monrovia, California raised $72 through a Cookie sale. They called their efforts the "Dream Project" in hopes of making the dreams of others come true too! |
July 2009costa mesa, californiaThe choral music students at Costa Mesa High School in California hosted a benefit concert to raise money to reduce poverty in Africa. The benefit raised $387! |
July 2009tinton falls, NjMs. Wolverton’s LIFE Club at Monmouth Regional High School in Tinton Falls, New Jersey held a bake sale and raised $100 to promote health and education for families in Africa. Way to go! |
June 2009New Braunfels, TXMs. Wong’s 4th Grade class of Saint Monica’s Catholic Church in New Braunfels, Texas raised $154.82 to support clean water in Africa! Way to go! |
June 2009Potomac, MDThirteen-year old Isaac of Potomac, MD was inspired to make a difference in the lives of children in Africa. He asked that all gifts from his Bar Mitzvah be given to Africare in support of orphans and vulnerable children. On June 30th, Isaac presented a check to Africare in the amount of $4,000! Wow! April 2009Urbana, ILStudents at University High School in Urbana, Illinois hosted a benefit concert to raise money for Darfur refugees. Together they declared “never again” and raised $300 for families affected by the crisis. |
March 2009Darien, CTThe Student Council of Middlesex Middle School in Darien, CT organized a student walk-a-thon that raised $3,400 to support Africare’s health and education initiatives across Africa! Great job MMS! |

March 2009Trotwood, OhStudents at Trotwood-Madison Early Learning Center in Trotwood, Ohio participated in a “Penny Raiser” and collected $290 to support clean water initiatives in Africa! Way to go! |
March 2009Silver Spring, MDThree seniors at John F. Kennedy High School in Silver Spring, MD adopted Africare as their Senior Project, and raised $442.05 through a series of promotional and fundraising events to raise awareness about refugees Darfur. |
February 2009Mathews, North CarolinaAnn Catherine of Matthews, North Carolina collected $100 in loose change from neighbors and friends for the African Well. She handed out collection boxes and suggested people add to it as they used water throughout their day. Way to go Ann Catherine! | ![]() |
