Some babies are chubby. Some babies are loud. Some babies are quiet. All babies are precious.
It is well-established that the first 1,000 days from a woman’s pregnancy through a baby’s second birthday are an absolutely critical window in ensuring a child’s healthy development, physically and mentally. Providing the growing child with proper nutrition can give them their best possible start in life and help them make the most of their future.
Africare’s Mwanzo Bora Nutrition Program in Tanzania does just that. “Mwanzo Bora” is Kiswahili for “Best Starts,” and the program helps Tanzanian families access nutrition services and trains local community members and mothers on the best ways to nurture their next generation.
Mwanzo Bora has trained more than 22,000 Tanzanians in child health and nutrition and reached more than 600,000 children under 5 with nutrition programs. Sara Mwaimbano’s little one is one of those children under 5.
Sara wants you to see how well he’s doing. Sara’s baby is chubby. Sara’s baby is quiet. Sara’s baby is precious.
