July marks the beginning of Africare’s 46th year of operations and the start of Africare’s new fiscal year 2016. It promises to be an exciting year of change and growth.
Following the recent departure of Africare’s President, the Board of Directors launched an international search for a new President. Diversified Search, one of the top-ten executive search firms in the United States and a respected firm with a global reach, will handle the search. The recruitment process has one goal – to uncover high-potential standout candidates with fresh views who will lead Africare into its second half century of service.
In the spirit of transparency and collaboration, several Africare stakeholders have offered to assist in the transition process, which has been appreciated and invaluable. In the interim, the Board has asked members of Africare’s Senior Leadership and Management teams to provide daily leadership and management of Africare’s operations until a new President is in place. This team includes the Vice President for Institutional Advancement, the Vice President for Finance, the Chief Human Resources Officer and the Senior Director of Programs.
Beginning the new fiscal year, Africare is pleased to announce the commencement of a new health project focused on maternal and child health in Zambia in partnership with a global pharmaceutical company.
Africare is forecasting continued growth of its programs within focus countries during fiscal year 2016 while effectively managing ongoing projects in 12 countries.
