Bobby J. Pittman

Bobby J. Pittman is the managing director of Kupanda Capital, a boutique investment platform focused on Africa. Most recently, Mr. Pittman was the Vice President of Infrastructure, Private Sector and Regional Integration at the African Development Bank from 2009 to 2012. In this capacity, he managed one of the largest portfolios in Africa, including more than $25 billion in active projects across 52 African countries. Mr. Pittman previously held senior positions at several U.S. government agencies, including the National Security Council, Treasury Department, State Department and White House.Africa Fund Manager magazine named Mr. Pittman to the “Power 50” list of industry leaders who are shaping investment trends in Africa. He also serves on the executive committee of the board of the Corporate Council on Africa, where he chairs the Finance Working Group. He is a member of the Expert Advisory Board for Dalberg Global Development Advisors. Mr. Pittman graduated summa cum laude from Florida State University, and received an M.A. in economics from the University of Chicago.
